Meet Mrs. Childress
Born and raised in Grand Prairie Texas, Mrs. Childress began her dance training at Amanda’s Dance Express at age two and continued her training for 15 years. While she was there, she competed as a member of the xtremeDancers competition team, as well as assisting and teaching young dancers. Ms. Rohloff is a 2011 graduate of South Grand Prairie High School and a proud alumna of the Chey-Anne Dance Team. While she was a member, she served as an officer her sophomore and junior years, then Captain her senior year.
Mrs. Childress graduated from Texas State University in 2016 where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. While at Texas State, she was a three-year member of the World Famous Texas State Strutters. She served for two years as a line officer, three years on Pom Squad and three years on the Jazz Elite Ensemble. Mrs. Childress is currently getting her Masters degree from Southern Methodist University studying Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management. She also serves as a committee chair for the Texas Dance Educator's Association.
This is Mrs. Childress' ninth year as Director of the award winning South Grand Prairie Chey-Anne Dance Team, and she is beyond thrilled to be back at SGP. Chey-Annes has always been a huge part of her life and she is honored that she gets to share her love for dance and this team every day with her students. Ms. Rohloff also teaches dance 1-4, as well as Pre-Drill and serves as the Student Council Sponsor and the Brand and Social Engagement Coordinator for SGP Football. Mrs. Childress' family is her husband, Hunter and their two dogs, Lucy and Lilly.
